They offer Windows, Linux and a Virtual Private Server plan that are providing their customers with a lot for their money. There are some drawbacks to this service provider that range from technical issues to billing problems. A Google search for this site will bring up issues brought up by previous clients of this site.

For the Windows plans there are actually two offered that both include several hosting applications. Some of these applications that Web.com offers are FrontPage extensions. Perl 5, FTP access, database features, and a website control panel, just to name a few. The Windows plan start out as low as $9’95 per month, and includes up to 500 email addresses, 80GB of file space, over 1 TB of bandwidth per months, and 5 MySQL databases.  The Linux plan also offers the same services, so it just depends on what the customer feels more comfortable using. Their Virtual Private Server plan offers the same functionality of a dedicated server at a fraction of the cost. They also offer over 25,000 different templates for someone to use to design and build their personal website. They also offer a reseller hosting option that can be purchase from their site.

While looking at this site I have noticed that even though they do offer an 800 number for people to call, and even potential new clients are allowed to contact them to get direct information about the services offered. This can allow someone to clarify the integrity of the plans offered. There have been a lot of complaints about the quality of service provided when contacting tech support. You will always have some issues with website hosting services, and that is no different with Web.com, but while doing my research on this hosting provider I have been able to find that their skilled staff and partners do try to improve their service though hard work and dedication.  They also are always working on utilizing the best technology to improve their overall performance. There have been some questions raised about their practices when dealing with canceling accounts with them and other technical service issues.

Conclusion.

When looking at web hosting services Web.com might be a great possibility but you will have to weigh in some of the complaints that are out there and see if you are willing to take the chance on this provider. They do offer some great plans for users of any skill level at very competitive rates. I would have to say if I was looking at rating Web.com. I would end up being in the middle of the road on my decision whether or not to recommend this site for someone over some of the better know sites that do have an excellent track record of customer service.
